IRC Europeans 2024 in Ireland – find out more

IRC European Championship 2024 – Dun Laoghaire, 12-15 September

The 2024 Maples RORC IRC European Championship will be held in Dun Laoghaire (Dublin Bay) from September 12th to 15th, hosted by the Royal Irish Yacht Club.

This promises to be the premier event in Europe for IRC rated boats this year and is attracting interest from fleets all across northern Europe. It is a great opportunity for you to pit yourselves against the best IRC sailors in Europe.

We have introduced a number of innovations this year to make the event more attractive to the smaller rated boats right down to Quarter Tonners and, given the right conditions, a lower rated boat may well take the overall prize!

The event is the culmination of three weeks of keel boat racing in the club, starting with the 2024 ICRAs, followed by the J/Boat Cup, incorporating the J/109 Europeans, and finishing with the IRC European Championship.

We have created a microsite covering all three events – it can be accessed here. https://www.riycevents2024.com

We also have a short publicity video for the event here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zXgY8sGwS12M8FyilpMC-jdnHlhZMIBL/view?usp=drive_link

There is a comprehensive venue guide on the site to assist you in the logistics around the event.

We will be hosting a Zoom Q & A session for any owners considering attending the event. Its on Monday April 29th at 19:30. It can be accessed on this link https://us04web.zoom.us/j/74685881324?pwd=UotASRPZIOQJDGJwpdaRoUCrPjBhzR.1

I look forward to welcoming you to Dun Laoghaire in late summer!

Joe Conway, Rear Commodore Sailing
Royal Irish Yacht Club
