STIX: MMOC (Minimum Sailing Weight)

Mass in Minimum Operating Condition (mmoc)

mmoc is defined by ISO 12217-2. It is the anticipated minimum weight that the boat will be when in use.

It is composed of Boat Weight plus various additions as follows:

Weight of Sails: 0.8 * (LH ^ 2) where LH is Hull Length

Weight of Stores: = Weight of Sails

Weight of Crew:

If LH <= 8 Then Weight of Crew = 75
If LH > 8 and LH <= 16 Then Weight of Crew = 150
If LH > 16 Then Weight of Crew = 225

Weight of Safety Equipment: (LH – 2.5) ^ 2

Weight of Liferaft: 14 + 2.5 * ((LH – (LH ^ 0.5)) / 0.0106) / 80

mmoc: Boat Weight + Weight of Sails + Weight of Stores + Weight of Crew + Weight of Safety Equipment + Weight of Liferaft
