Corinthian yachts will race for additional prizes in the IRC European Championship in Dublin Bay from 12-15 September to mark the celebration of inclusiveness of yacht racing and club skippers.

Announcing the generous sponsorship of MAPLES GROUP, international law firm and fund and fiduciary services provider, Patrick Burke of Royal Irish Yacht Club confirmed that RIYC and RORC were delighted to embrace the addition of Corinthian awards in this international event where professional and Corinthian crews compete together.

“Naturally, the traditional format is retained and there will only be one overall IRC European Champion in 2024 but we are delighted with this extension – for the first time, each class will have an additional Corinthian winner; furthermore, we will be calculating silver fleet winners after Day 2 of the Championship.”

“The competitiveness of the event and the races within races are a huge attraction to many owners with whom we have spoken. Coming in early September (at the conclusion of 3 weekends of events in Royal Irish Yacht Club) we see fantastic interest in the event and have organised to make it a week of competitiveness and craic both ashore and on the water racing in beautiful Dublin Bay”.
